Jennifer Love is living the Sweet Life!

We Love Beach Plum Baking Company!

How do you go from living the corporate life to living the dream?  We asked Jennifer Love - the owner of Beach Plum Baking Company.

SSW:  Can you tell us what inspired you to start your own Baking company?dresscookie

Jen:  I was working in the corporate world (Fidelity) off and on for over 10 years.  I decided I needed to make a change to work closer to home. I wanted to do something I liked and that allowed me to spend more time with my children.  I have always loved to bake, so this was a natural choice.

SSW:  Was it difficult to get started?

Jen:  It really was a matter of being in the right place at the right time.  Maggie's Corner (a bakery in Cohasset) had just closed.  Hornstra Farms carried their product and they were looking for baked goods to fill in their line.  A friend of mine brought in some of my samples and Hornstra started carrying my products.  I was very lucky!

SSW:  Who do you cater to?

cupcakebouquetJen:  I work with Hornstra Farms, but am in the process of expanding, I am currently in talks with Whole Foods.  I create unique baked goods for corporate events.  I also work with clients for special events.  Anything from decorative cookies for wedding favors or theme birthday cakes.  I also create cupcake bouquets - they are time consuming but the end product is worth it.

SSW:  What is your signature item?

Jen:  Definitely my Cinnamon Raisin Bread!  It has been my most successful seller from the beginning!
